Kiriban has been caught!! 'Til next time folks

At 9:50 PM today I raked up all the points in my account and got a premium membership. And if you haven't noticed, I decided to change my username.

The prospect of getting rid of BalloonBear has come and gone for a few years, but I decided to finally make one name and use it for all of my social media (instagram, tumblr, all that jazz). I had been wanting to have a handle as my own and so, like most of any life choices I've made, I did it spontaneously. BalloonBear was an account I made when I was still a dweeb kid and out of my lack of creativity, I chose to combine two words from a picture from my then favorite notepad: winnie the pooh carrying a balloon. Hence the name BalloonBear. (I was very close to making a weeaboo sounding username, thank god.)
audweam is a combination of the nickname my sister gave me, Audwey, and dream because that was the only word I could think of that started with dre. 

Thank you to all those that have stuck around since the old days, it means a lot to me.

Fun fact, about a few months ago I found out that there was a musician by the name of BalloonBear on soundcloud. This knowledge did contribute to choosing to change my username. He has some pretty funky tunes. Check him out on soundcloud!

Also, I'm sorry if the title of this journal was misleading! I swear I'm not leaving anytime soon (haha).

Hello all!
As you may know, I took a year long hiatus off of posting things on Deviant Art. Now that I'm back, however, I've noticed that a lot of the people I used to watch don't have up to date DA pages as well. I wanted some opinions... is DA getting more deserted? Are people moving on to their own blogs and/or tumblr? Is DA getting too filled with 9 year olds and trolls for professionals to want to upload their resume? Or maybe it's the bad notification/message system? Or perhaps people just want to have a more individualized blog in contrast to a social networking- sort of style? 
I have also noticed that art is getting harder and harder to get noticed! Is this because things get too buried too quickly? 
That being said, I would suspect that not too many people would read this as well....
But if you are reading this, tell me what you think! I would love some opinions on this. I've been really curious.

On another note, Happy Chinese New Year to all who celebrates it!

It's been quite a long time (Last journal post was also around Thanksgiving season)
I've not been updating after I fell out of DA last year but I'm now planning to start being more active! ^_^
Thank you to all the new watchers that added me even though I was MIA. m(_ _)m
I've started cleaning up my gallery and will start posting more digital art soon enough. Thank you for all the support ^7^)

As you can see from my page, I've opened up commissions so feel free to message me if you're interested This time around I'll be much more punctual about it!

Also, to commemorate returning to DA, I'm going to do an 8,000 pageviews Kiriban! The last time I was active on DA it was only around 4-5k so I'm really grateful for all those who checked out my art It means a lot and I'd like to pay it back by giving a small drawing to my 8000th visitor. Take a screenshot of my page with 8000 pageviews and send me a note! I'll then post sth with a download link. It'll be a simple sketch, along the lines of something like this:
